The
Hunter Education Class Scheduled for September 13 & 14 in St
Martin Parish is cancelled due to Hurricane Gustav recovery work and
preparations in case Hurricane Ike affects Louisiana. All persons that
are registered for the Sep 13 & 14 class will automatically be
registered for the Sept 27 & 28 class. Anyone that has already
registered for the Sept 27 & 28 class will still be allowed to attend.
This will make the Sept 27 & 28 class full and we will cease taking
registrations for the Sept 27 & 28 Hunter Education Class. Please
refer to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries website at
www.wlf.louisiana.gov for information on times and location.

The Lydia Cancer
Association has postponed their Food Fest that had been scheduled
for September 12th and 13th until November 14th and 15th, the
opportunity to buy raffle tickets has also been extended.

The celebration
of the 175th anniversary of the Sisters of Mount Carmel
scheduled for Sunday, September 7th at St. John’s Cathedral
in Lafayette is cancelled due to Hurricane Gustav. If possible it
will be rescheduled during the spring of 2009.

IPAL's opening of That's the Spirit is being
postponed until next week-end. At this time they do not know if they
will add another week-end. In addition, Big Brothers Big Sisters of
Acadiana in Iberia Parish announces the cancellation of the “That’s
The Spirit” fundraising event scheduled for Sunday, September 7th, at
the Gougenheim and the Essannee Theatre. This event will be
rescheduled for a later date. We are very sorry for any further
inconvenience that this may cause our audiences.

Lewis in New Iberia , Thursday.

Judicial District Court and the Clerks Of Court offices in Iberia
Parish, St. Martin Parish, and St. Mary Parish will be closed through September
5, 2008. Additional emergency information and
further orders which may become available will be posted on the
Courts’ website at
