PUBLIC NOTICE

	FLOOD INSURANCE RATE MAPS - PROPOSED REVISIONS

	(PROPOSED REVISED FLOOD MAPS)

	RURAL IBERIA PARISH

										
	The Iberia Parish Council will be conducting public hearings in order to obtain public comments and/or objections to the proposed revisions to the FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps, which establish the flood zones for Iberia Parish.  The Revised Preliminary FIRM Maps will be available for review at this hearing.  The purpose of these hearings will be for any property owners to share any complaints, questions, protests, etc. regarding the proposed maps, which information will be compiled by the Iberia Parish Council and will be submitted to representatives of FEMA as soon as possible for their response.  PLEASE NOTE THAT FEMA REPRESENTATIVES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE AT THESE MEETINGS.  

	Any persons who have questions or would like to submit appeals or protests to the Preliminary FIRM Maps which indicate the proposed flood zone revisions for Iberia Parish are encouraged to attend this meeting.  PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT ANY APPEALS OR PROTESTS TO THE PROPOSED REVISED MAPS FOR RURAL IBERIA PARISH MUST BE SUBMITTED THROUGH IBERIA PARISH GOVERNMENT.  It is requested that you bring any available information you may already have (such as elevation certificates, etc.) to dispute the proposed map revisions.  Preliminary FIRM maps can be viewed online at www.lamappingproject.com.  Any interested persons are encouraged to attend one of the above public hearings or to contact the Clerk of the Council at 365-8246 for more information.
